Sad News.....

(Text from Congleton Jazz and Blues posting) It was very sad to hear of the passing of Phil Maddocks, a lovely person and a great singer/songwriter, at CJAB and Unplugged we did some great gigs with Phil. This is a press release picture he gave us to use from a couple years ago, we all know him as a performer, and here in this picture he is all about getting the best in the recording studio, he gave us some great great music. His funeral is next week, we wish all those people close to him, and all those people who just loved his music our sincere condolences.

More Sad News.....

(text from a CJAB Facebook posting) We are very sad to hear of the passing of Craig Pickering on 4th Feb, a lovely person, and a great character. Craig ran Biddulph Up In Arms and his influence on music performance in the area we live, North Staffs and South Cheshire, is huge, but it is also felt across a much wider music community, given his reach with artists from USA, Canada and all over Europe. He was at the same time a fan and a promoter, his enthusiasm for music beamed out from his broad engaging smile. At Congleton Jazz and Blues and Unplugged we were very lucky that Craig got involved with us, he gave us the confidence to broaden our programme of events. It was never about who does what it was always about what shall we do! he just wanted to get the music out there. Craig will surely be missed, our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.
